Fabulous performance again last night by The Sentinel Marching Band!  Next up is homecoming week.

Jazz Ensemble to open for Shout Section!

Once again the Jazz Ensemble has been asked to be the opening act for The Shout Section Big Band at Coopers Corner in Winfield on October 20th.  This years performance with be in conjunction with our Jazz Cafe on October 19th, and possibly an in school performance as we celebrate "Jazz in the Suburbs" week at WHS.

One more day....

Friday is our last day of camp for the 2016 season!  Hope you can all join us for the performance and potluck dinner.

Band Camp 2016

Two days of the 2016 Band Camp are in the books!  Pregame is finished, and we are halfway through the opener.  Thanks to all the parents for getting your students here on time today.  The weather, while hot, has been overall very nice.

A couple of reminders...

The end of the week performance will be at 5:10 pm on Friday, followed immediately afterwards by our annual potluck dinner.  Below are what we ask each grade level bring to share.

Finally, if you haven't received information on the trip to Germany in June, please check your e-mail registered with Skyward.  I'll be briefing you all during dinner on Friday.

Great performance by the WHS Jazz Ensemble at The Taste of Westmont yesterday!

Happy Summer!

Greetings to all 2016-2017 band members!  The marching band music is now posted for the fall season.  Your section leaders will call you with the password to access it.  Please print all of your parts and start practicing.  In the next couple days we will also have audio links to the halftime music, as well as your charts for the marching show.

As a reminder, band camp 2016 is August 1-5 at the high school from 8am-5pm.  This a MANDATORY event.  You are all expected to be in attendance.

Newcomers, you should be receiving a call from your big brother/big sister in the program this week as well.  They can help to answer an questions you may have about the upcoming year.

Hope you are enjoying your time off.  See you all in a month!

Day 2 complete!

Everyone went bowling tonight to end day two.  The winning team was lane 13 who averaged 98.  The last place team came in with a 71.  Overall average was 82 and the high score was 129.

(This is why we don't have a bowling team....)

At 8 AM EST, we are about an hour out of New York City.  First stop is Rockefeller Center.

Finalized Itinerary for NYC - Concert Wednesday

Just a reminder to all that we have our March Concert Wednesday night, March 9th.  The bands begin 10 minutes after the conclusion of the choirs, which start at 7 PM.  We should begin at approx. 8 PM.  Come early and hear the Madrigals, Concert Choir, and junior high vocalists!

Departure time 6 AM SHARP from WHS.

Our performance time is 3 PM CST, 4 pm at Purdue.   Remember Purdue is on Eastern!!!!

We will be watching the performance at 6 pm EST, and then loading the buses and heading home.  While we can’t predict the departure exactly, I would estimate our arrival home between 9 and 10 PM.

Students should bring money for lunch and dinner with them.  Food is available on campus for lunch, and we will grab food on the way home as well.

LINCOLN WAY CENTRAL JAZZ FESTIVAL INFORMATION

CALL TIME FROM WHS: 6 AM at the Band Room

PERFORMANCE TIME:  8 AM (Sharp) in the Rosenquist Theater

DRESS CODE:  All Black, Men (or Women…)  in ties of any color please! 

WHERE IS LWC?   :  Lincoln-Way Central High School is located at 1801 East Lincoln Highway, New Lenox, IL 60451.                                   

ADMISSION:  Admission price to the 2016 festival:  $5 for adults, $3 for junior high/high school students (with ID) and seniors.  Children ten and under are free.                                   

PHOTO:  If you are interested, we will be taking a full band photo (professional).  These photos are available for $15 for an 8 x 10. 

FOOD: Lincoln-Way will have food available for purchase.  $5 “Meal Deals” are your best bet!

T-SHIRTS: If you want to purchase a festival T-Shirt, they are available at LWC for $15
